James Blaskovich
October 3, 1941 - August 16, 2010


James Dennis Blaskovich, 68, of Aurora, IL and formerly Batavia, died Monday, August 16, 2010. He was born October 3, 1941 in Hinsdale, IL the son of the late Anton and Frances (Matkowitz) Blaskovich.

Surviving him are his wife, Pam (Hilderbrand); his sons, Jon (Jennifer) of Branford, CT, Jason of Tampa, FL, Mark and Sam Hilderbrand of Oceanside, CA; his brothers Richard (Constance) and Terry (Steve Spellman) Blaskovich. "Grandpa Jim" will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Sophie, Cole, Greta and Bubby.

Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Blaskovich.

He received a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology from Stout State College, Menomonie, WI (now the University of Wisconsin-Stout) in 1965, and served honorably as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army between 1967 and 1969.

As a second generation builder of custom homes, he owned Blaskovich Builders, Inc. and designed and built many custom homes in the Woodland Hills subdivision of Batavia. He was known for his detail and fine finish carpentry. He enjoyed fishing, boating, classic cars and tending his outdoor grill.

A celebration of life for friends and family will be held Friday, August 20, from 6 pm to 9 pm at his home.

Memorials may be made in James’ name to a charity of one’s choice.
